World Language Department Mission Statement

Studying a world language means jobs, world travel, and global communication! At Wilcox High School, students can learn about amazing cultures and their languages by studying Japanese, French, or Spanish. Our World Language courses meet national and state standards and are certified for both the University of California and California State University systems. Students are also able to earn the California Seal of Biliteracy through advanced study of their chosen language. At Wilcox this honor includes a medallion worn at graduation, a seal affixed to the student’s diploma, and a special notation on the student’s final transcript.
