Our Mission

The Wilcox High School counseling staff strives to empower students to thrive in a global society. Through delivering a multi-tiered and data-driven school counseling program, we advocate for equitable access and success for all of our students. Aligned with the National Model for a comprehensive school counseling program, focused on attendance, achievement, and discipline, the WHS counseling department instills and develops students to make a positive impact on their long-term success by teaching self-management and critical thinking skills to make informed ethical decisions. We use a continuous cycle of inquiry that includes all of our stakeholders. Through this process, we deliver an inclusive comprehensive school counseling program that encompasses all aspects of college and career readiness, academic success, and social-emotional development that prepare our students to become caring, contributing citizens, who can succeed in an ever-changing world.
